Ten Reasons to See Wayside on Friday

1) "The Only One" was played on CFOX last night.
2) The Green Room is a hip venue in an area downtown where you are not
readily offered crack.
3) The Armchair Cynics are a cool band, with a cool name and they are
coming all the way from Victoria.
4) We are not playing "Every Rose has its Thorn" so we will have to come up
with something to top it.
5) We have two new songs – they could be hits – be the first people to hear
them.
6) We are playing first so we will have plenty of time to share a few beverages with you.
7) What else are you doing Friday? Will it really be more fun?
8) Trent is promising some "interesting" new stage attire.
9) This may be the last time to catch Wayside before we go on tour (well we
might actually go to the Island)
10) Hmmm... can't think of a last reason... if you can, post it at www.wayside.ca

- Upcoming Gig - Friday, July 4th @ The Green Room
======================

Yep it's true, 99.3 the Fox has promised to play a song next week to help
promote our July 4th show at the Green Room. The mystery song (they
haven't told us what they plan to play) will be featured on Trace Ventura's
Indie Night in Canada show on Tuesday, July 1st sometime between
11-12pm. Check it out and let it help you get pumped up for the show on
Friday July 4th. We are hoping this one will be a big party, and we have
lined up a cool band from Victoria (The Armchair Cynics) to play with us.

As usual more info can be found at www.wayside.ca and be sure to visit
the site to check out the wacky poster Mark created for this event.

- Next Wayside Show Just Announced - Friday July 4th 2003
- Check Out The New Wayside Website
------------------

Some of the details have yet to be decided, but we can finally announce that
our next show will be at the Green Room on Friday, July 4th. Thanks to
everyone who attended our last show at the Green Room, they have asked us
back on a weekend to stage the rock spectacle of the summer. Or something
like that... anyway, Wayside is hard at work crafting some new tunes, so you
can definitely expect a great night of bands and beer.

We will let you know when we have the final details, but in the meantime be
sure to check out the Wayside webpage. We have a ton of new features there
including a voting booth, news article feedback and the Wayside forums. If
you have any suggestions for the show (songs you want hear, what you would
like to see, etc...), that's the place to make your opinion known.

Looking for something to do now that the Canucks are out of the playoffs?
Come drown your sorrows and uplift your spirits with Wayside on Wednesday
night at the Green Room, located a stones throw away from G.M. Place.

In an effort to get clubs to rethink their nonsensical business approach,
Wayside is paving the way to having clubs feature music a little earlier than
usual. With sets at 9:30pm and 10:30pm, you can be assured that you'll be
home in bed well before midnight... unless you want to stick around after it is
all over to have a few drinks with the band(s), doorman and bouncer.

Come out early to catch the opening act "Spark That Screams" at 9:30pm - a
unique fusion of experimental rock and folk. Followed by a high energy set of
rock'n'roll from Wayside at 10:30pm sharp. We hope to see you all there.
------------------

In an attempt to stir a little more interest, we have released a brand new
website to the unsuspecting public. We have added a new downloadable
song called "I Belong". Check it out online and then come and see the live
version on Wednesday night!

- Wayside returns!!!!
- New Website coming soon

Well it has actually been a few months since Wayside has taken to the stage
as a full band but finally our next show can be announced. Wayside will be
performing at the Green Room (across from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre
downtown) on Wednesday May 14th. It will be an early-ish show with special
guests to be announced. Wayside is excited to be kicking off a busy summer
schedule for the band and they hope to see some people out for some
midweek rock'n'roll revelry. As usual the Wayside website will have more
details as they become available.

A new Wayside website is expected to be released prior to our upcoming gig.

- XFM's Last Band Standing
- Wayside Forums Now Open

Wayside needs your help!!! Don't worry, we don't need you to head out to
any scuzzy bar downtown to see us play. This time you can help us out from
comfort of your own computer. We have entered a contest called "Last Band
Standing" sponsored by XFM radio here in Vancouver. Basically, we have an
MP3 online that is in competition with MP3s from other local bands for song
of the week. If we are voted first or second for the week we get to the next
stage which is a live performance at the UBC Pit Pub. What we really need
people to do is head to this link:

http://www.1049xfm.com/ckvx/content/music/lastbandstanding_poll.html

and vote for our song (Band: Wayside, Song: Weak). Help us get as many
votes as possible before Friday morning. In fact, if you can pass this along to
your friends and family members then we should be able to generate a
massive amount of votes ;-). This is a great opportunity for the band and we
would really appreciate it if you can help us out. You can check our webpage
at www.wayside.ca to check up on how we are doing and we hope you enjoy
the tune.

We have recently added Wayside Forums to our web page. Sign up for an
account and begin discussions. It's very easy to get started and you get
immediate feedback from the band and other fans. If you have any
suggestions or comments, we would be happy to hear from you.

- Weak continues its run on garageband.com

Wayside would like to remind people about their show tonight at Mesa
Luna (1926 West Broadway - between Maple and Cypress.) Wayside are
playing a charity show for Engineers Without Borders with The Psychedelic
Apes and A Virgin in Hollywood. We will be taking the stage promptly at
9:00 and will have a full length set of acoustic/scaled down Wayside tunes
and a few suprises. We will also be giving away CDs to people who attend
that did not get CDs at the release party so we hope to see you there. Visit
our web site at www.wayside.ca for more info.

Wayside is also happy to announce the recent success of their song Weak
on the garageband.com independent music site. The song peaked at 24
(out of over 5000) on the pop/rock charts and was selected for "song of the
day" for Wed Mar 12. Swing by their website to check it out. Weak can also
be downloaded from their site.

- Wayside announces special charity acoustic show
- Wayside single topping Garageband charts

Wayside is happy to announce their involvement with the Engineers
Without Borders program at a special fundraiser show on Tues March 11.
This program "is a growing registered charity dedicated to international
development." More information can be found here: http://www.ewb-isf.org/

The benefit show will be held at Mesa Luna (1926 W. Broadway, Vancouver,
BC) with Wayside taking the stage at 9:00pm. Wayside will be performing a
special "acoustic/scaled down" show due to prior touring commitments of
drummer Craig Whitehead. The Psychedelic Apes and A Virgin in Hollywood
will also be appearing. Mesa Luna is supposed to be a pretty cool venue, so
hopefully we will see some familiar faces out there.

On a completely unrelated note, Wayside's latest single release Weak has
been racing up the charts on this popular website Garageband.com This
site is devoted to independent music and allows visitors to review songs
from around the world. Weak is currently in 41 in the pop/rock charts (out of
just over 4600) after only one week. Check out the website at

bandFEST concluded at Maverick's on the Waterfront on August 4th and
featured 6 bands competing for one prize. Wayside made it through four
rounds of the competition, ending up in the BC Championship Finals.
Despite not coming out on top, we still walked away with some recording
time from the Lower Mainland Finals and plan to record some of our new
material sometime later this year. We wanted to thank our fans for all of the support you have given us
in this competition. Many of you endured long sleepless weekday nights
for us and still cheered your hearts out. We want to thank you as you
all played a part in getting us as far as we got. At the BC Championship Finals, we gave away VIP passes to our Wayside
Fan Appreciation Night. At the time, it was still in the planning stages
and there were no details available but we managed to pull something
together within the month. We wanted to try something a little
different... An intimate-and-interactive style event where we'll be
playing a number of old and new favourites rearranged to suit a
quieter environment. Our Wayside Unplugged show has been fully promoted on the FOX (listen
for it...) and will happen this Saturday August 17th 2002 at Mark's
Fiasco. All VIP passes will be honoured at the door for free entrance.
Otherwise, cover will be $5. Wayside will be on sometime after 9. The first 50 people through the doors at Mark's Fiasco will get a free
beer and Mark's will be featuring 1/2 price pizza's before 8pm and
$5.50 doubles throughout the evening. Drop by and enjoy the music, drinks and food... The bandFEST Lower Mainland Finals are coming up this Wednesday...
Wayside has advanced through 3 rounds in this CFOX sponsored
battle-of-the-bands event. The next obstacle is the Finals. And now
we need your support more than ever.

We have been handed the unfortunate midnight time slot. The benefit
of this is that we'll be compared to the previous bands much like
how voting occurs in figure skating. The obvious drawback is that
it will be much harder to get people out to cheer for us due to the
late time slot. Fan support is one of the judging criteria and
that's why we really need your help. If you don't think you can
stay up that late then come early and check out some of the earlier
bands. Just mention that you're there to see Wayside at the door.

Visit our website at www.wayside.ca for some staying-up-late tips
for those that want to help us win this thing.

Come to our show and you'll get a Wayside Sweepstakes card.
Possible prizes include free beer, Wayside T-Shirts, Wayside CDs and
an A&B Sound Gift Certificate. All cards contain prizes. Visit
www.wayside.ca for more details.

If you do intend to make it out that night, please print out the
handbill on our website and bring it with you to the finals to show
to whoever is at the door. Please mention that you're there to see

The bandFEST Lower Mainland competition is an event that has featured
32 promising bands from Vancouver and the Lower Mainland areas. 16 of
those bands moved on to the quarterfinals. Now 8 bands remain and
Wayside enters the semi-finals as one of those 8.

Wayside will be performing at Barfly on Wednesday, July 10th. We need
your support more than ever as the competition continues to get tougher
and tougher. As an extra incentive we are giving away a $50 A&B Sound
Gift Certificate to some lucky fan who attends this show.

All you have to do is visit our website at www.wayside.ca and print out
the handbill on the News page, fill in your name in the white box and
give it to whoever is at the door. Also, anyone who attends the gig
wearing a Wayside T-Shirt will get an extra entry.

So once more, please come out Wednesday to Barfly before 11:00pm and
help us get to the Finals. The first band goes on at 9:30pm.

BandFEST2002 Quarterfinals

Address: 140 6th Street, New Westminster
Phone Number: 604-519-0333

Five bands are competing for two spots in the bandFEST2002
quarterfinals tonight at Barfly in New West. We will be the first
band on and we need your support. We go on at 9:30pm sharp so try
to get there early. As an extra incentive, we will be giving away
free Wayside T-Shirts to the first 20 people who arrive and say
that they are there to see Wayside.

If you do get a T-Shirt, we would encourage you to wear it if
possible. This will help demonstrate your support for us to the
judges. The judges have a lot of bands to listen to and we want
to be memorable.

If you do intend to make it out that night, please visit the link
below, print out the handbill and bring it with you to show to
whoever is at the door.
